A Legacy Built on the Water

General Boat Services was founded by Karen, whose love of the sea was never a choice — it was an inheritance. Her grandfather spent his life on the water, beginning as a commercial mariner hauling cargo across open ocean routes before earning his captain's license and spending his later years commanding private yachts through the Pacific, the Caribbean, and the Mediterranean. Her father followed him onto the water, eventually building a career in yacht maintenance and repair along the South Florida coast. The sea was the family's constant.

Karen grew up on docks and in engine rooms, absorbing the discipline, the craftsmanship, and the deep respect for vessels that defined both men. When the time came to chart her own course, she chose to honor that legacy — not by simply continuing it, but by building something that could carry it forward. She founded General Boat Services with a clear mission: to bring the same standard of care her grandfather and father lived by to every yacht owner who trusted her with their vessel.

Today, General Boat Services operates out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with a team of certified technicians, experienced managers, and vetted crew professionals who share Karen's commitment to excellence. Every service call, every maintenance program, every management contract reflects the values she inherited — precision, accountability, and an unwavering respect for the sea and the vessels that sail it.
